On February 8, 2019, CC Capital led an investor consortium in the take-private of Dun & Bradstreet, a transaction valued at $7. 2 billion. The buyer consortium included Cannae Holdings, money associated with Thomas H. Lee Companions, L. P., Dark Knight and other recognized traders. Mr. Chinh E. Chu is the Creator and Managing Director at CC Capital Companions, LLC, an exclusive investment company which he founded in 2015. Mr. Chu and CC Capital founded 2 SPACs: CF Corp. ($1. 2 billion), the biggest U. S. SPAC elevated at such amount of time in May 2016 and Collier Creek ($475 million), a consumer products SPAC elevated in Oct 2018 with Roger Deromedi and Jason Giordano.
Presently, Mr. Chu acts as Co-Executive Chairman of Fidelity & Guaranty Life, the successor to CF Corp. CC Capital also led the going-private of Dun & Bradstreet, a $7. 2 billion purchase announced on August 8th, 2018.
Ahead of CC Capital, Mr. Chu was a Mature Managing Director on the Blackstone Group where he proved helpful for 25 years from 1990 to 2015. Mr. Chu was Co-Chair of Blackstone’s Private Collateral Executive Committee, an associate of the Investment Committee and offered on the firm’s Executive Committee. Blackstone is one of the world’s leading investment firms with Property Under Management of $434 billion as of December 2017 as compared to the $1 million in capital it experienced when Mr. Chu joined the firm.
In addition to CF Corp, Mr. Chu currently serves as a Director on the boards of NCR Corporation and Stearns Mortgage. Mr. Chu previously served as a Director of Catalent, Inc., Kronos Incorporated, SunGard Data Systems, Inc., Freescale Semiconductor, Ltd. Biomet, Inc., Alliant, Celanese Corporation, Nalco Company, Nycomed, Alliant Insurance Services, Inc., the London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange, or LIFFE, Graham Packaging, and AlliedBarton Security Services.
Before joining Blackstone in 1990, Mr. Chu worked at Salomon Brothers in the Mergers & Acquisitions Department. Mr. Chu received a B. S. in Finance from the University or college of Buffalo.
